美國總統特朗普於社交網站貼文，再次向中國發炮，指美國多年來因為中國，損失數以萬億計的金錢，他又指責中國盜竊美國的知識產權，現在亦繼續這樣做，他強調不會讓情況發生。特朗普又聲言美國不需要中國，坦言沒有中國會更好。
特朗普呼籲美國企業立即尋求替代方案，包括將公司遷回美國，並在美國生產，他稍後將回應中國向美國貨品加徵關稅的事宜。
特朗普又下令聯邦快遞、亞馬遜、聯合包裹及美國郵政，立即檢查所有來自中國的包裹，是否藏有鴉片類止痛藥「芬太尼」，他批評中國國家主席習近平沒有履行承諾，處理「芬太尼」問題。
